Filipino Real Estate Tycoon and Presidential Candidate to Build New Casino Resort in Manila

Manuel “Manny” Villar, a former presidential contender and one of the wealthiest Filipinos in the world, is building a new casino resort complex in the country’s capital, Manila, in 2023.

Speaking with local media recently, Villar, Vista Land Chairman, stated that his intentions of converting the Global South Vista mall will be into a casino and entertainment complex with a total floor space of 18,000 square meters. Villar said:

“Yes, it will push through. In fact, we are launching early next year since the casino has already been built as we are just converting the mall. We also have gotten the proper licenses and permissions as well.”

The project will be built near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the Las Pias-Paraaque region and will include hotels, residences, a mall, a casino, and a theme park.

“The casino will be just one of the attractions of the entertainment component, as there are plenty of more things to do,” the billionaire real estate tycoon added.

Prime Asset Ventures Inc. will manage the casino project through its wholly owned companies Vertex Entertainment and Resort Corp. Villar is also the CEO of Prime Asset.

Furthermore, now that the country’s economy is starting to get some positive momentum following the global pandemic, Villar said that his Vista Land has plans to start construction of new high rise projects in the metro manila area and elsewhere in the Philippines. He concluded:

“We will definitely be more active in housing this coming year.We have been holding back for three years as despite remaining active in the market, we did not push as much compared to the other developers.”

“Land is getting to be more expensive. Next year we will have more vertical projects, with the company’s focus skewing around 55 to 60 percent toward that.”
