Greentube, the NOVOMATIC Digital Gaming and Entertainment branch, invites gamers to go in a quacking journey with Diamond Tales: The Ugly Duckling, its latest spectacular release.
The five-reel, 40-payline slot, developed in partnership with intellectual property owner RoyalCasino Denmark, is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s renowned fairy tale. The plot unfolds as players travel through each season and see the transformation of the ugly duckling into a beautiful swan.
The goal of the base game is to gather Diamond Hearts in the Special Reel in order to advance the tale and reach the Swan Feature. These diamond hearts also affect your chances of winning in the Diamond Tales feature.
The Snap Drop function can be activated at any time throughout the base game. All that is required is for the player to land a Snap Drop symbol on the fifth reel, with Diamond Hearts on the Special Reel. The Snap Drop Feature provides the player with one free respin during which only Diamond Hearts with multipliers appear on the reels. Following the respin, the sum of all multipliers is multiplied by the player’s bet.
Three Book Bonus Symbols appearing on reels one, three, and five activate the Diamond Tales Feature. The player enters the feature with one additional Heart added to each Special Reel spot. Three Free Spins are granted, which may be re-triggered if a fresh Diamond Heart appears on the main reels. If a Red Diamond Heart appears on a reel, its value is added to any prior Red Diamond Hearts that landed on the same reel.
In the feature, Gold Diamond Hearts work as multipliers. Each chapter of the game, beginning with Spring and finishing with the Swan Feature, adds one more Gold Diamond Heart to the Diamond Tales Feature, up to a maximum of five.
In areas where it is legal, Diamond Tales: The Ugly Duckling also has a Buy Bonus function that leads players directly into the Diamond Tales feature.
