Pragmatic Play Donates £6,850 to Gibraltar Wildlife Sanctuary

Pragmatic Play, the iGaming industry’s leading content provider, has donated £6,850 to Gibraltar’s only wildlife sanctuary, Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park (AWCP), home to a variety of native and exotic animal species.

Based in the stunning Alameda Botanical Gardens in Gibraltar, the AWCP takes care of unwanted exotic pets and animals confiscated by customs and also raises awareness of important endangered species through conservation education.

Donations from Pragmatic Play will help the park support its exciting new North American sea turtle exhibit and fund the restoration of its turtle pond, which requires flowing filtered water to ensure the health and cleanliness of the animals that raise them and its outdoor facilities.

In addition to tropical species, the safari is home to three species of North American sea turtles; the common snapping turtle, tortoise, and yellow-bellied sliding turtle, which can live to be over 70 years old.

The main purpose of the AWCP is to protect endangered species in the wild, participating in international conservation projects to ensure their survival. Through selected captive breeding programs, they also hope to play a major role in international efforts to protect rare and vulnerable populations.

“As the only wildlife park in Gibraltar, the AWCP fulfils a crucial part in the protection of rare animal species, and we’re extremely proud to be able to support the restructuring of its outdoor spaces and turtle ponds,” Julian Jarvis, CEO at Pragmatic Play, said.

Jarvis added:

“Up to four species of turtle will be housed in a specious pond in a prominent area of the park thanks to our donation, and we look forward to establishing new ways to support the conservation group moving forward.”
