Merkur Group has locked in a new chapter of growth in the United States after finalizing its purchase of Gaming Arts LLC. The deal gives the German company direct access to Nevada’s land-based casino market and adds momentum to its wider 2025 expansion drive.
Good to Know
The Nevada Gaming Commission gave its approval earlier this year, clearing both the buyout and the licensing of Merkur’s US subsidiary. That green light allowed Merkur Gaming US to begin manufacturing and distributing gaming products inside the state—something the group has been working toward for years.
Merkur and Gaming Arts were not strangers heading into this deal. The two had signed a supply agreement back in 2023, a partnership that laid the groundwork for the acquisition. With that collaboration already in motion, the transition into full ownership came as a natural next step.
Dominik Raasch, Management Board Member at Merkur Games, explained the strategic value:
“With Gaming Arts, we are now able to place Merkur products directly in a wide range of US jurisdictions. This marks an important step in expanding our international growth beyond European borders.”
Gaming Arts has carved out a strong presence in Las Vegas, providing slot machines, electronic table games, and other casino technologies. Its licenses stretch far beyond Nevada, covering around 150 jurisdictions in North America and Latin America. That network now becomes part of Merkur’s global reach, which already spans over 90 countries.
Robert Ziems, CEO of Gaming Arts, welcomed the deal with optimism:
“This partnership elevates everything we’re doing at Gaming Arts. With Merkur’s global reach and resources behind us, we are positioned to deliver bold innovation and world-class execution like never before.”
The acquisition also marks a return to the Nevada market for Merkur after more than 20 years away. By combining its worldwide resources with Gaming Arts’ local expertise, the group is positioning itself as a serious player in one of the world’s most competitive gaming hubs.
