The Philippine online gambling industry is taking a major step toward higher standards, with 18 licensed operators and a legal partner coming together to launch the PlaySafe Alliance of the Philippines. The move brings some of the biggest names in the market under one umbrella, united by a shared goal — making online gaming safer, fairer, and more transparent for everyone.
Good to know
The initiative, announced in a Thursday press release by DigiPlus Interactive Corp, signals a rare industry-wide collaboration in a market that has faced both calls for tighter regulation and pressure for a total ban.
DigiPlus, a Philippine-listed and licensed online gaming operator, has joined as a founding member. Other major brands on the Interim Council include World Platinum Technologies, Trojans Well Entertainment, Gavin Ventures, Playmate Leisure Solutions, Stotsenberg Leisure Park & Hotel, Jade Entertainment, Meta Interactive, and Enigma Software Solutions.
Additional members such as GoTech Entertainment, IGO Digital High Technology, NEMO Interactive, Nextstage Entertainment, RAC Phil, Silver Goose 8 International, Skyline Nexus, Webzoid, and Xn Solutions have also signed on, alongside law firm Arden Consult.
The alliance is grounded in four priorities:
Philippine lawmakers and regulators are actively weighing how to balance public welfare with the economic benefits the sector brings. As DigiPlus noted, “The formation of the PlaySafe Alliance signals a unified commitment to higher standards and greater accountability.”
DigiPlus chairman Eusebio Tanco reinforced the collaborative nature of the effort:
“This alliance is not about competition – it’s about collaboration. By working as one, we can ensure that online gambling in the Philippines becomes more secure, transparent, and beneficial to both players and the nation.”
Members agree that unlicensed, unmonitored gambling is the biggest danger to players. Without licensed operators, there’s no system of checks to hold platforms accountable. Illegal sites often target vulnerable players, bypassing safety measures and responsible gaming tools.
The PlaySafe Alliance aims to counter this by:
A coalition of licensed online gambling operators in the Philippines committed to safer, more transparent gaming.
All members are licensed by Pagcor, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.
To promote responsible gaming, protect players, strengthen compliance, and combat illegal gambling.
Yes — players can expect stronger safety measures, clearer rules, and improved transparency.
The alliance is part of broader industry efforts to show that regulation, not prohibition, is the better path.
The PlaySafe Alliance of the Philippines marks a rare moment of unity in the country’s online gambling industry. By pooling resources and expertise, its members aim to make licensed gaming safer, more accountable, and better regulated — while pushing back against the growing problem of illegal operators.
