Alicya Ribeiro, a Brazilian influencer with a large online following, is now under investigation in Belo Horizonte along with her partner Eduardo Magalhães. Authorities suspect the pair promoted illegal online gambling platforms—including the controversial Fortune Tiger, known locally as Jogo do Tigrinho.
Good to know
The investigation intensified after police carried out a raid at their residence. During the operation, officers confiscated high-end cars, electronics, and other items worth around BR700,000. Authorities believe these assets may be connected to illegal gambling promotion activity, although Ribeiro and Magalhães maintain the items were acquired lawfully.
According to delegate Marcelle Bacellar, Ribeiro received regular payments—around BR100,000 per month—to advertise gambling platforms using affiliate links. Some of those links allegedly sent users to platforms where losses were preprogrammed, raising serious concerns around consumer fraud and predatory marketing.
While Ribeiro was not arrested, Magalhães was taken into custody during the raid due to illegal firearm possession. He was released shortly afterward on bail. The couple’s legal team claims that Ribeiro’s work as both an influencer and adult content creator, combined with Magalhães’ business income, fully explains their lifestyle and assets.
They also insist they will cooperate with investigators once they gain access to the police report. Their legal strategy includes presenting documents to verify the origins of all seized goods.
The investigation is still unfolding, but Ribeiro could face charges related to operating unauthorized gambling services, consumer rights violations, and possible money laundering. The spotlight on influencers tied to Jogo do Tigrinho has grown recently, as Brazilian authorities ramp up enforcement against illegal betting promotions across social media.
