The Illinois Gaming Board has released its casino revenue data for December, showing another strong month for the state’s gambling industry. Combined revenue from slots and table games across all casinos in Illinois reached nearly $157.1 million. Of that total, slot machines generated $117.7 million, while table games contributed $39.4 million.
Rivers Casino Leads the Pack
Rivers Casino maintained its position as the state’s top earner, bringing in $43 million in December. This figure accounted for more than a quarter of Illinois’ total casino revenue for the month. As one of the largest and most popular gambling destinations in the state, Rivers Casino continues to set the standard for revenue performance.
Growth at Hard Rock Casino Rockford
Hard Rock Casino Rockford, which opened its permanent facility in August, posted its fourth full month of revenue results. The casino brought in $12.1 million during December, reflecting a slight increase compared to its November performance. The venue is quickly becoming one of the key contributors to Illinois’ casino industry, drawing attention as it continues to establish itself.
Bally’s Chicago Generates $10.3 Million
Bally’s Chicago, which is currently operating from a temporary location, recorded $10.3 million in revenue for December. The company is preparing to open its permanent casino destination by 2026, which is set to feature 4,000 gaming positions, a 500-room hotel, a theater seating 3,000 guests, and 10 restaurants. Bally’s plans to solidify its position in the Chicago market with this extensive development project.
Tax Contributions Reach $80.8 Million
Illinois casinos also made substantial contributions to state and local tax revenues in December. The industry paid nearly $80.8 million in taxes for the month, with $40.8 million allocated to the state’s share and $10 million distributed to local communities.
