With the introduction of the PokerStars Open, PokerStars has announced a daring new course for its live poker events in 2025. Following the European Poker Tour’s (EPT) Paris cancellation and circulating speculation regarding EPT Prague’s future, this announcement was made. The UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT), Eureka Poker Tour, Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT), and France Poker Series (FPS) are replaced by the PokerStars Open, which will make six stops throughout Europe, including three new venues.
With a €1,100/£1,100 Main Event and a guaranteed €1M/£1M prize pool, the PokerStars Open offers players an improved tournament experience. A range of side events will also be held at these stops, attracting participants from all across the world.
Cédric Billot, Associate Director of Live Events Operations at PokerStars, shared his excitement: “PokerStars is delighted to bring a series of new events to the European poker calendar. Our PokerStars Open stops will provide incredible experiences, with each location offering a unique feel while contributing to a cohesive European series.”
The 2025 PokerStars Open aims to provide both novelty and tradition. The series will include renowned stops such as the Irish Open, held at the Royal Dublin Society, alongside fresh destinations like Campione in Italy and Malaga in Spain. The inclusion of tournaments at EPT Monte Carlo and EPT Barcelona ensures a mix of established and new favorites.
Billot emphasized the flexibility of this new series, noting: “We’ve decided to move to the PokerStars Open format as it allows us to host million-guaranteed events anywhere in Europe, beyond established national tours.”
