Caesars Entertainment has announced December 12, 2024, as the official opening date for its latest luxury property, Caesars Virginia. Located in Danville, this expansive 587,000-square-foot resort will feature a host of gaming and entertainment options, making it a premier destination in the region. The facility boasts over 90,000 square feet dedicated to gaming, complete with around 1,500 slot machines, 79 live-action table games, 48 electronic tables, a dedicated World Series of Poker room, and a Caesars sportsbook.
“We have worked diligently on creating a world-class resort that will offer all the luxurious and modern amenities expected from Caesars,” said Barron Fuller, Caesars Regional President. He added that the property will also “serve as an economic driver for Danville and the surrounding region through employment and tourism.” Fuller expressed pride in Caesars Virginia, saying, “We’re so proud of Caesars Virginia and look forward to welcoming guests on Dec. 12.”
Danville Casino’s Success and Upcoming Employment Opportunities
The opening of Caesars Virginia follows the success of Danville Casino, a temporary facility that began operations in May 2023. Since its launch, the casino has generated over $66 million in gaming taxes for Danville and the Commonwealth, a promising start ahead of the resort’s full-scale opening. Chris Albrecht, Caesars Virginia’s Senior Vice President and General Manager, shared his excitement about the progress, noting, “Our property started out with just over 400 Team Members when the temporary facility opened last year, and we are on track to hire more than 1,200 by the time we open our doors in December.”
Albrecht highlighted the collaboration with local leaders and support from the business community, which has been instrumental in preparing the staff to deliver Caesars’ “Family Style Service” at the new resort.
In addition to Caesars Entertainment, Caesars Virginia is co-owned by EBCI Holdings and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Michell Hicks, Principal Chief of the Eastern Band, emphasized the significance of this partnership for the Tribe and the community. “Our partnership with Caesars Virginia marks a significant milestone in the region’s growth,” said Hicks. He expressed pride in the venture, noting that it will foster “stronger ties within the region” and deliver economic benefits through job creation and enhanced hospitality options.
With Caesars Virginia’s debut, the region anticipates a new era of tourism, economic development, and unique cultural opportunities. This state-of-the-art resort is set to make a lasting impact on Danville and surrounding communities, establishing itself as a top destination in the state.
