Century Casinos has officially announced the date of the Caruthersville, Missouri, location of its new land-based casino. November 1, 2024, will mark the opening of the new Century Casino & Hotel Caruthersville after a transfer of gaming licenses approved by the Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC).
Details of the New Casino and Hotel
Construction of the new casino and hotel, which began in December 2022, is on schedule and within its projected $51.9 million budget. The project is funded by VICI Properties, which will own the real estate improvements. Century Casinos’ existing triple net master lease agreement with VICI’s subsidiaries will include this new development, increasing the annual rent by approximately $4.2 million.
The Century Casino & Hotel Caruthersville will be 50% larger than its existing temporary location, with 599 slot machines and nine live table games. The hotel will double its room count to 74 as part of a major refurbishment.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and a number of other festive festivities will mark the beginning of the casino’s opening weekend. The gaming license can now be moved from the interim facility to this new, permanent venue thanks to a recent ruling by the MGC.
Century Casinos hopes to expand its customer base and improve its services with this new addition.
