Stephen Song, a 29-year-old poker pro from Greenwich, Connecticut, added another major win to his growing list of achievements by taking down the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona Main Event. The €5,300 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament saw 1,975 entries battling it out inside Casino Barcelona from September 1-8. Song walked away with his largest career payday of $1,432,328, pushing his lifetime earnings to $$7,967,682 according to the HendonMob.
Song, who already boasts a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet and a WPT Prime Championship trophy, now adds the EPT Main Event title to his impressive collection. This victory marks his 13th recorded title.
Heads-Up Against Andrew Hulme
The final showdown was between Song and UK’s Andrew Hulme. Starting heads-up play, Song led with 33,550,000 chips against Hulme’s 25,980,000. The pair agreed to a deal, securing $1,293,832 for Hulme and $1,369,281 for Song, leaving $63,048 and the title on the line.
A critical bluff extended Song’s lead, setting up the final hand. Song pushed all-in with Ace-7 suited, and Hulme called with pocket eights. The board revealed a straight for Song, sealing his victory while Hulme collected the second-largest prize of his career, surpassing his previous best of $350,000 from the 2023 WSOP Main Event.
Mike Watson Claims EPT High Roller Title

Watson, a seasoned pro with nearly two decades in the game, has had an outstanding year, including his first WSOP bracelet win, which completed his poker Triple Crown — wins in the WSOP, WPT, and EPT.
This year, Watson has made 15 final tables and claimed four live titles. The High Roller event drew 431 entries, contributing to a $4.6 million prize pool. Watson’s total career earnings now stand at $29,210,611 according to the HendonMob, placing him fifth on Canada’s all-time money list.
