World Series of Poker Circuit Makes Debut in Toronto from March 22 – April 1

GGPoker and Great Canadian Entertainment have announced the first inaugural World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit event to be held in Toronto, Canada. This eagerly anticipated event will take place at the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto from March 22 to April 1, 2024, introducing the city to the world of high-stakes poker.

The event is set to feature eight Circuit Ring events, with an impressive total estimated prize pool of $3.9 million. Highlights include a $2,000 Main Event that promises an estimated $2.1 million in prizes and a $3,500 High Roller event with more than $850,000 up for grabs. This announcement comes on the heels of the 54th annual WSOP, which broke records last summer, setting the stage for Toronto’s debut on the WSOP circuit.

Robert Katsavelos, the General Manager of Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, expressed his excitement about the circuit’s debut in Toronto said:

“We are thrilled to partner with GGPoker to bring the World Series of Poker to the City of Toronto for the very first time. This is a fitting milestone that will create further momentum for our 30-table poker room that recently opened at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, Canada’s newest and largest casino resort.

“We are excited to welcome tournament participants from across the North American poker community and from right here in the City of Toronto.”

Adding to the excitement, GGPoker’s Brand Ambassadors, including Toronto’s own poker star Daniel Negreanu, who was born and raised in the city, will be participating in the event. Negreanu, a GGPoker Global Ambassador with over 25 years of experience in WSOP events worldwide, shared his enthusiasm about competing in his hometown for the first time, calling it a “quite special” opportunity.

With the full schedule of events to be announced shortly, the WSOP and GGPoker are making it clear that this tournament could become one of the most memorable poker series in recent history. They also reserve the right to make changes to the tournament, ensuring participants and fans alike stay tuned for updates.
