Delaware Park Casino & Racing Embarks on $10 Million Renovation Project

Delaware Park Casino & Racing, located in Stanton, Delaware, has begun an ambitious remodeling project aimed at revamping its primary gaming facility and providing additional amenities to improve the overall guest experience. The restoration project, which has a $10 million budget, began last month and is slated to be completed by the fall, promising a revitalized and modernized workplace.

Delaware Park Casino & Racing changed hands in November 2021, when Canadian private equity group Clairvest Group and Rubico Gaming paid an estimated $90 million for the resort. Rubico Gaming, helmed by former Caesars Entertainment board member Thomas Benninger, has teamed up with Clairvest Group to supervise the casino’s future. Terry Glebocki, a seasoned casino industry executive and former CEO of Ocean Casino Resort, has been chosen as Delaware Park’s president and general manager.

Glebocki, famed for successfully reviving the Atlantic City resort, lends her skills to Delaware Park Casino & Racing. With the ongoing renovations, Glebocki hopes to make the casino a prominent attraction in Delaware, rivaling the draw of Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

The Delaware Park Casino & Racing remodeling project intends to give the property a new and modern design. The goal is to make the casino more appealing to existing customers while also recruiting new ones. The newly renovated casino will include an upscale baccarat and blackjack pit, pod-style slot cabinet arrangements, and a variety of new food and beverage options. An enhanced VIP bar will provide guests with a taste of the opulence experienced in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Currently, Delaware Park Casino & Racing has almost 1,900 slot machines, 40 table games, a poker area, and a sportsbook. In addition to modernizing the gaming amenities, the restoration project will include unique chandeliers and lighting, comfy gaming tables, new flooring, vaulted ceilings, and eye-catching paintings, altering the venue’s atmosphere.

Terry Glebocki stated her vision for Delaware Park Casino & Racing, “We want to make the property more modern and comfortable for our existing guests, as well as attract new audiences, positioning our casino as a premier destination in the region.” The rehabilitation project is an important step toward accomplishing this goal.
