At the 2023 World Series of Poker’s High Roller Event, Jesse Lonis beat 200 other players and won the top prize of $2,303,017. The big game was at the Horseshoe Paris and Las Vegas. Lonis was really good and beat all other players in Event #71: $50,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller.

Lonis started getting attention when he came second in the $1,000 Covid-19 Relief game at the 2021 WSOP. He also did really well in the Main Event that year, finishing 25th. Since then, he’s made it to the final table three times and come second twice in the WSOP. He won his first bracelet in a $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em game on WSOP.com. In only two years, he’s won five tournaments and come second eight times.

On the last day of the High Roller Event, Lonis started with the second highest amount of chips out of the last 11 players. He played smart, bet carefully, and started winning a lot. By the time the final table was ready, he was in a really good position and knocked out many strong players like Ian Matakis, Elias Harala, Isaac Haxton, James Park, Adam Hendrix, and Danny Hannawa.

The last game was a one-on-one match with Tyler Smith. Even though Smith was one tough opponent, Lonis was able to secure the win. In the final hand he got jacks and fours and that was it – he was the champ. This win, the bracelet, and all the money are a big deal for Lonis. He’s excited for what’s next, especially since he and his fiancee, Meghan, are expecting their second daughter in August.
