PokerStars has announced the highly anticipated comeback of the UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) in 2023 by releasing the schedule. The much-loved tour is set to host six action-packed stops, launching with an exciting return to Malta, and then moving on to Blackpool, Brighton, London, Edinburgh, and culminating in Nottingham, which features an impressive £1 million guarantee.
This marks the first time since 2016 that PokerStars has released a full schedule of UKIPT events, thus enabling players across Europe to strategize their poker year around one of the continent’s most cherished and influential tours.
To make sure players with all backgrounds have the chance to qualify, PokerStars will ongoingly run online satellites for UKIPT stops, with an objective to secure 60-80 online qualifiers for each stop.
UKIPT Leaderboard
Adding another layer of excitement to the tour, PokerStars will introduce a leaderboard that runs throughout the year, offering remarkable prizes. The leaderboard is designed to reward consistency across the entire series, allocating more points to players finishing at higher positions.
The top three finishers will be awarded impressive prizes at the end of 2023:
- First prize: A £15,000 UKIPT 2024 package (£11,000 in 2024 live event credits, plus £4,000 cash expenses)

The Unique Legacy of UKIPT
The UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) holds a distinctive position in the European poker landscape. For some, it served as an introduction to live poker, offering a platform to test online skills before moving up to the European Poker Tour (EPT).
For others, especially those in the UK, the UKIPT was a catalyst to their poker journey. Its televised events on Channel 4 ignited poker interests, giving players a taste of the limelight on the feature table and paving the way for big wins.
Introduced in 2009, the tour has been home to numerous notable winners, such as Martin Jacobson, Niall Farrell, Ludovic Geilich, Sergio Aido, Benny Spindler, Max Silver, and Padraig Parkinson.
