A customer wagering $500 in cumulative wagers during December will earn a $50 free bet, $1,000 a $100 free bet, $2,500 a $250 free bet, $5,000 a $500 free bet, and finally $10,000 a $1,000 free bet. According to the announcement, customers will be credited within 24 hours.
Sports betting in Virginia
Sports betting in Virginia became legal in April 2020, when the state legislature approved two sports betting bills, authorizing online sports betting. Under state law, up to 12 sports betting licenses are up for grabs.
Virginia’s betting market went live in January 2021 with the launch of FanDuel through a partnership with the Washington Football Team.
With the launch of PointsBet, there are now more than ten operators currently live in the state. The Australian operator will now join the likes of DraftKings, Bally Bet, BetMGM, BetRivers, FanDuel, Caesars, WynnBet, Unibet, Golden Nugget, and Barstool.
More operators are also expected to launch in the coming months including 888’s SI Sportsbook and Betway, which both secured entry into the market in November.
According to the latest figures for the state’s betting market, sportsbooks in the state processed a record $427.3m in sports wagers in October and managed to generate $30.2m in revenue.
