Developer Michael Ochoa wants to build a new casino resort on Las Vegas Boulevard about five miles south of the Strip, adding another project to the expanding southern corridor.
The proposed Silverado resort would eventually include 450 hotel rooms and a 57,000 square foot casino on 13.5 acres near Richmar Avenue.
Good to Know
Plans call for two six story hotel buildings, a five level parking garage, restaurants, entertainment areas and conference space.
Ochoa Development Corp. land use consultant Lucy Stewart described Silverado as a:
“substantial long-term investment”
She said the resort would contribute to the area “continued evolution and revitalization.”
The vacant site sits north of Silverado Ranch Boulevard, an area where development has continued to spread farther south along Las Vegas Boulevard.
Silverado would also sit near South Point, an established casino resort farther north on the same corridor. Clark County records show continued commercial and residential development activity around Richmar Avenue and the wider Enterprise area.
County approval would cover the land use proposal rather than provide a Nevada gaming licence. Any casino operation would still require the separate state and local gaming approvals needed before opening.
