Allwyn UK will appoint former William Hill executive Phil Walker as interim CEO from 7 September, replacing Andria Vidler after almost three years in the role.

Walker Takes Over After National Lottery Transition
The leadership change comes after Allwyn completed the main transition work tied to taking control of the UK National Lottery.
Vidler joined as UK CEO in October 2023 and led the business through the handover from Camelot. Allwyn formally became National Lottery operator in February 2024 under the fourth National Lottery licence.
Allwyn UK Chair Justin King said the company now wants to build on that work and focus on future growth.
“With the major transition milestones delivered, now is the right time to look to the future and build on the solid foundations that have been laid to create a strong platform for future growth.”
Vidler said:
“Transforming the National Lottery is a marathon, not a sprint and, with the major transition now complete and the National Lottery in a stronger position to keep delivering for the nation, this feels like the right moment for me to pass on the baton.”
Allwyn UK priorities remain centred on modernising the National Lottery, improving player protection and increasing support for good causes.
Walker brings extensive betting industry experience. He spent six years in senior William Hill roles, including online managing director and chief commercial officer, and most recently served as a non executive director at City Gaming Limited.
Walker said:
“I am excited and proud to be taking up the baton from Andria and joining such a vital national institution at this important stage of its growth journey.”
He added:
“As a long-standing National Lottery player, I know first-hand the difference it makes to communities across the UK and this is a huge part of what attracted me to the role. It will be a real honour to help build on the progress already made.”
