Italian gambling regulator ADM has ordered internet providers to block another 190 unauthorised gambling websites, with the latest restrictions due to take effect on August 20, 2026. The order adds to an earlier July list and includes several Fonbet domains.
Good to Know
The Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli uses an administrative blocking system rather than requiring a separate court ruling for every gambling website. Internet and telecommunications providers must prevent access to domains included on the ADM list and redirect users to an official regulator notice page.
Protocol 00540333 supplements the previous list published on July 10 and leaves earlier restrictions in place. The August order gives connectivity providers until August 20 to implement the additional 190 blocks.
Italian law gives ADM the power to order these restrictions under Article 102 of Decree Law 104 of 2020, later converted into Law 126. Publication through the regulator website serves as notification to providers, making the system different from markets where regulators need individual judicial blocking orders.
Several Fonbet related domains appear in the latest batch. ADM had already included Fonbet.com, Fonbet.info and Fonbetpoker.com in restrictions that took effect on July 27. The August list adds addresses including fonbet001.com and fonbet003.com after reports showed that Fonbet.com had redirected users to another domain.
That timing overlaps with a separate controversy involving Andrea Pirlo. Pirlo became a Fonbet ambassador in October 2025, and his relationship with the operator received attention during discussions over the Italy national team head coach role. Pirlo confirmed on July 27 that he was no longer a candidate for the position.
The two issues remain legally separate. ADM blocks domains based on whether gambling services or advertising comply with Italian rules. Inclusion on the blocked sites list does not itself constitute a ruling on a sponsorship agreement involving Pirlo.
