Genius Sports Q2 Revenue Reaches $195.5 Million, Adjusted EBITDA Up 54 Percent

Genius Sports raised its full-year guidance after the Legend acquisition helped Q2 revenue climb 64.7% to $195.5 million. The sports data supplier also beat its forecasts for revenue, adjusted EBITDA and cash.

Good to Know

  • Media revenue rose 192.8% to $78.2 million.
  • Adjusted EBITDA increased 54% to $52.6 million.
  • Acquisition expenses widened the net loss to $76.7 million.

Legend Changes the Genius Sports Revenue Mix

Media technology, content and services provided the main growth engine during the three months to June 30. Revenue in the division almost tripled after Genius Sports added Legend results from May 1.

Demand for the Genius Sports Moment Engine and GeniusIQ products also supported the $78.2 million total. Meanwhile, betting technology revenue rose 27.5% to $117.4 million through contract price increases, added services and wider customer activity.

The combined company reported $195.5 million in revenue, beating guidance of $185 million. Adjusted EBITDA reached $52.6 million against a $45 million forecast, although the margin narrowed from 28.8% to 26.9%.

β€œIn our first quarter as a combined business, we exceeded our guidance on revenue, adjusted EBITDA and cash, raised our full-year outlook, and are already seeing the benefits of the Legend integration,” said Mark Locke, Genius Sports founder and chief executive officer.

Genius Sports completed the Legend acquisition on May 1. The agreement valued the digital sports and gaming media network at up to $1.2 billion and gave Genius Sports a larger advertising and audience acquisition business alongside its sportsbook data operation.

Deal Costs Push Net Loss Higher

The net loss widened from $53.9 million to $76.7 million, or $0.28 per share. However, the operating loss improved by $25.1 million to $55.6 million.

Legend-related costs drove much of the difference. Genius Sports recorded $28.9 million in transaction expenses, $13.8 million in net interest expense and an $8 million contingent consideration charge. A $27 million year-on-year reduction in foreign currency gains also affected the result.

Cash and cash equivalents fell to $155.1 million from $280.6 million at the end of 2025. Management expects about $260 million at year-end, which would require more than $100 million in second-half cash flow.

Genius Sports now forecasts 2026 revenue of $1.005 billion to $1.025 billion, compared with its previous $990 million to $1.01 billion range. Adjusted EBITDA guidance increased to between $285 million and $295 million.

The company expects Q3 revenue of about $260 million and adjusted EBITDA of $85 million. Recent commercial work includes a Liga MX technology agreement and wider GeniusIQ distribution through the Swiss Football League.
