Bally’s Completes Sam’s Town Shreveport Acquisition

Bally’s Corporation now controls two neighboring casinos on the Shreveport riverfront after completing the purchase of Sam’s Town Shreveport from Boyd Gaming. A Bally’s rebrand will follow as the operator combines both Louisiana properties.

Bally’s Gains Two Adjacent Shreveport Casinos

The deal gives Bally’s a larger base in the Shreveport-Bossier casino market without building a new property. Sam’s Town adds a 29,000-square-foot gaming floor, restaurants, entertainment space and meeting facilities to the existing Bally’s operation next door.

Boyd Gaming had operated Sam’s Town Shreveport since 2004. The companies announced the sale in February, with financial terms initially undisclosed. Louisiana Gaming Control Board approval followed before the ownership transfer.

“Today’s closing marks an important milestone for Bally’s as we continue to expand our presence in key regional markets and invest in destinations with strong long-term potential,” Bally’s Corporation Chairman Soo Kim said. “We appreciate Boyd Gaming’s partnership and professionalism throughout this process and thank the Louisiana Gaming Control Board for its thoughtful review and approval of the transaction.”

Bally’s plans to integrate the casino, retain continuity for employees and guests, and review possible upgrades. The company will also replace the Sam’s Town identity with Bally’s branding. The acquisition takes the domestic casino portfolio to 19 properties across 11 states, according to current company investor information.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson also backed the deal as his G-Unit business develops entertainment projects across Shreveport.

“Together, we have an opportunity to create new entertainment, dining and retail experiences that attract visitors, support local businesses and contribute to Shreveport’s continued growth,” he said. “I look forward to working with Bally’s to help build something that benefits the community for years to come.”

The City of Shreveport lists the Bally’s purchase alongside a $124 million G-Unit Studios plan as part of wider downtown entertainment investment.
