Betsson reached record revenue in the second quarter of 2026, helped by Latin America and FIFA World Cup betting. However, rising regulated market costs and lower B2B activity cut earnings.
Good to Know
Revenue from Latin America climbed 32.3% and represented 36% of the Betsson group total. Argentina, Peru and Colombia each delivered record quarters, supported by World Cup marketing and higher customer activity.
“As in previous quarters, the strongest growth came from Latin America, which grew by 32% to new record levels and is now our largest region,” CEO Pontus Lindwall said. “The increase was broad-based and received an additional boost from the FIFA World Cup, which contributed to high activity among both new and existing customers.”
Betsson also gained a sportsbook licence in Santa Fe, Argentina. A launch is planned for the fourth quarter.
Western Europe revenue reached a record €64.2 million, led by Italy. Nordic revenue fell 17.1% after lower marketing spending in Sweden and Denmark.
Regulated markets generated 75.5% of group revenue, compared with 65.7% one year earlier. Greater exposure brought higher gaming taxes and payment fees.
“The higher share of locally regulated revenue, and the higher gaming taxes that follow, is once again a key explanation for the lower profitability compared with the same period last year,” Lindwall said.
B2B licence revenue dropped from €75.6 million to €49.1 million, mainly because of reduced activity from one major customer.
As a result, EBITDA fell 30.5% to €58.5 million. Net income declined 38.2% to €30.4 million.
Casino remained the main product with €217.6 million in revenue, equal to 70% of the group total. Sportsbook revenue stayed broadly flat at €91.3 million.
Before the World Cup, Betsson increased sportsbook capacity to five times normal traffic. New features included Goal Rush and Super Sub.
Lindwall said he was “very satisfied with the performance of the sportsbook from a technical angle” and added: “We made a lot of UX enhancements and made it easy for customers to find things to bet on.”
Average daily revenue from July 1 through July 13 ran 13.7% above the third quarter 2025 average.
“The FIFA World Cup has provided a solid start to the third quarter,” Lindwall said. “With a competitive product offering and strong market positions, we are well placed to continue creating long-term value for our shareholders.”
Betsson also arranged a new €75 million credit facility for possible acquisitions.
