Doug Polk Steps Away From The Lodge Operations

Doug Polk will no longer take part in daily operations at The Lodge Card Club, although the three-time WSOP bracelet winner will keep his ownership stake.

Good to Know

  • Polk remains a shareholder but holds no active management role.
  • Current leadership will run the Round Rock and San Antonio poker rooms.
  • The exit follows a raid, temporary closure and later reopening in 2026.

Polk Leaves Operations After Difficult Year

Polk framed the decision around family and other business commitments rather than any ownership dispute.

“I’ve always enjoyed building businesses and taking on new challenges,” Polk said.

“With several other projects demanding more of my time, and my family continuing to grow, I’ve decided this is the right time to step back from my involvement with The Lodge so I can focus more fully on those priorities. While I’ll remain a shareholder, I will no longer have any active role or involvement with The Lodge.”

The Lodge enters the new phase only months after state investigators raided the Round Rock room on March 10 during an illegal gambling and money laundering investigation. Authorities froze assets, and the business laid off staff while the venue remained closed. A Williamson County grand jury later declined to approve charges, clearing the route for the club to reopen on May 26.

Polk had consistently argued that the club operated within Texas law. His departure now leaves day-to-day control with the existing management and wider ownership group.

“The Lodge has accomplished a great deal over the past several years, and I’m grateful to everyone who helped make that possible,” he said.

“I have every confidence in the current management team, employees, and ownership, who remain committed to providing a first-class experience for players in both Round Rock and San Antonio. I expect The Lodge will continue to thrive.”

Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen remain part of the ownership group. Nikhil “Nik Airball” Arcot and Ethan “Rampage” Yau joined as investors in 2025.

Polk also thanked the players who supported the Texas poker rooms.

“The friendships and community we’ve built together mean a great deal to me,” he said. “I’ll always appreciate being part of that journey. This feels like the right time for me to close this chapter. I wish everyone at The Lodge nothing but success in the years ahead.”
