Play’n GO has secured approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission, giving the Swedish supplier a path into the next regulated Canadian iGaming market.
Good to Know
The Alberta license gives Play’n GO another foothold in Canada as the province prepares to open online casino access through licensed operators. The company already holds supplier credentials in Ontario and Quebec, so Alberta adds a wider Canadian route for its casino games.
Play’n GO has not given a launch date for Alberta content. However, selected titles are already moving through the provincial certification process. That step checks whether the games meet local technical and regulatory standards before operators can use them.
Play’n GO brings a large game catalog into the Alberta pipeline, including grid slots, table games and branded series. The company has spent recent years adding regulated North American markets, with Canada forming a key part of that plan.
Chief Commercial Officer Magnus Olsson said:
“Regulated markets are the foundation of our business, and Alberta represents an exciting opportunity to expand our footprint in a jurisdiction that shares our commitment to high standards, player protection and long-term sustainability.”
Alberta has been building out its regulated online gambling model with operators, suppliers and platform providers ahead of launch. For Play’n GO, the approval puts the supplier in position to serve licensed casino brands once the market opens and certification work ends.
The timing also gives Alberta operators another major content option as they prepare casino lobbies. Play’n GO will now move from licensing into compliance testing, with availability tied to final game approvals.
