The Lodge Card Club Sets May 26 Return After Texas Raid

The Lodge Card Club in Round Rock, Texas, will open again on May 26 at 9 a.m., two months after a state raid shut down the poker room.

Good to Know

  • The Lodge Card Club was raided in March by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
  • A Williamson County Grand Jury later found too little evidence for a criminal indictment.
  • Poker returns May 26, while Frank & Margie’s opens May 16.

The first poker event back will be a $50 no-limit hold’em tournament at 10:15 a.m. on May 26. Two more low buy-in events are also planned for the same day, giving members a quick return to live poker as the World Series of Poker begins in Las Vegas.

The club shared the news Tuesday on Twitter/X. It said:

“Welcome back home Lodge members.”

Round Rock Poker Room Gets Back To Business

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission shut down The Lodge in March, citing money laundering and illegal gambling concerns. State authorities also froze assets tied to the club.

That case changed in April when a Williamson County Grand Jury declined to indict the property owners. With no criminal indictment, The Lodge now plans to bring back staff, players, and regular games.

The return also helps players who still had chips at the club when the raid happened. Those players are expected to be paid out after operations resume.

Several familiar parts of the business should come back too. The “Poker at the Lodge” livestream, which has nearly 240,000 YouTube subscribers, is expected to return after poker resumes in Round Rock.

Food service will look different. Odds Bar & Bistro is being replaced by Frank & Margie’s, an Italian-American restaurant opening May 16, ahead of the poker room return.

The company also runs a Lodge card club in San Antonio. That site was not raided and stayed open during the Round Rock shutdown.
