Good to Know

  • Police put the estimated loss at about $298,000.
  • Christina Carbonell and Siraprapha Rattana each face a theft charge above $100,000.
  • Rommel Soriano faces a lower theft charge tied to $5,000 to $25,000.

Audit at Binion’s Cafe Turned Into Theft Case

A financial review at Binion’s Cafe led investigators to a much larger problem. Police say cash disappeared from registers between 2022 and April 2025, with the total loss reaching about $298,000. Authorities later arrested Christina Carbonell, Siraprapha Rattana, and Rommel Soriano in connection with the scheme.

According to police reporting, hotel security had already detained Rattana when officers arrived. She allegedly told police that she and co-workers were taking about $200 a day. Investigators also reviewed surveillance video that allegedly showed cash being pocketed from registers. Detectives believe Carbonell and Rattana altered transactions by applying unauthorized discounts or lowering totals while keeping the full cash payments.

Soriano, who worked as a waiter, allegedly admitted he received stolen money. Police also said video showed him helping hide the thefts from surveillance cameras. Investigators then traced heavy cash flow across several accounts and found large withdrawals at other casinos in the area.
