Marius Kudzmanas closed out WSOP Europe with the biggest live win of his career, taking the Main Event title and €2,000,000 in prize money. The result also gave him the custom-crafted WSOP Europe Main Event Champion gold bracelet and added a live headline result to a resume that already included two online WSOP bracelet wins.
Good to Know
Before the Main Event winner was confirmed, WSOP Europe had already posted one of its strongest festival runs in Europe. Players from more than 80 countries entered bracelet events across the series, with 15,779 total entries recorded and more than €39,500,000 paid out. For poker in Europe, those numbers gave the festival extra weight and helped lock in its status as a major stop on the live tournament calendar.
Then came the headline finish. The €5,300 WSOP Europe Main Event became the largest open event in European history, producing a €13,085,000 prize pool from 2,617 entries. Kudzmanas came through that field to secure the title, and his run stood out for the way he handled a big stack. WSOP pointed to his measured but aggressive approach as a key part of the win.
For Kudzmanas, the result matters on a few levels. He already had two online bracelet wins, so the Main Event victory now gives him a live WSOP Europe title to sit alongside success on the digital side of poker. In simple terms, he proved he could do it on both stages.
WSOP also highlighted another result from the festival, with Anna Eggenberger of Switzerland winning the first WSOP Europe €1,000 Ladies Championship. She outlasted a 197-player field and earned her first gold bracelet in what was described as the biggest ladies championship event ever held outside Las Vegas.
WSOP executives leaned hard into the scale of the series after play ended. “We are absolutely thrilled with the phenomenal success of this year’s WSOP Europe, which has set new parameters for poker on the continent,” said Ty Stewart, Chief Executive Officer of WSOP. “The enthusiasm and incredible turnout, particularly for the record-breaking €5,300 Main Event, has been unprecedented. Congratulations to Marius Kudzmanas for etching his name into the history books as our newest champion.”
Gregory Chochon, Chief Operating Officer of WSOP, also pointed to the broader festival effort behind the results. “This edition of WSOP Europe was the best yet, and we’d like to sincerely thank all of the players, dealers, staff, partners, and media that came together to make the festival so special. A core WSOP goal is to continually refine and improve our events – with that in mind, we can’t wait for the action to kick off next month in Las Vegas!”
