Indian Gaming Association Picks New Board Members at 2026 Convention

The membership of the Indian Gaming Association elected Tehassi Hill as Vice Chairman and Michell Hicks as Treasurer during the 2026 Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention in San Diego. Both will serve two year terms.

Hill and Hicks step in at a tense moment for tribal gaming. Hill, now in his third term leading the Oneida Nation, said:

Hicks struck a similar tone after the swearing in. He said: “There are many challenges in front of us, including the expansion of illegal markets that threaten our industry.” He added that meeting those threats will take “strategy, resources, and a unified effort.”

Bean said the election showed strong support across the organization. He said:

“Today’s election reflects the strength of our tribal leadership and the unity of our membership.”

Bean also said the group is strengthening leadership as it faces “illegal prediction market activity and federal overreach.”
