Macau March Casino Revenue Climbs 15% to $2.80 Billion

Macau casino revenue kept rising in March, with gross gaming revenue reaching MOP22.61 billion, or about $2.80 billion. The result was up 15% from a year earlier and nearly flat against January after a softer February.

Good to Know

  • March GGR rose 15% year on year to MOP22.61 billion.
  • The total was up 9.8% from February MOP20.6 billion.
  • First quarter 2026 GGR reached MOP65.9 billion, up 14.3% from a year earlier.

Macau March GGR Rises Again

Macau casinos generated MOP22.61 billion in March, according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau. That put monthly revenue 9.8% above February and just under the MOP22.63 billion posted in January. Analysts had expected a firm March because comparisons were easier and demand stayed solid after Chinese New Year.

The latest number also pushed first quarter gross gaming revenue to MOP65.9 billion, up 14.3% year on year. Even with that growth, Macau still faces pressure to keep gaming revenue stable. In April 2025, Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai warned that monthly revenue below 15 billion patacas could create budget pressure in a city still heavily tied to casino taxes.

For operators, March points to a market that is still growing but not in a straight line. Revenue stayed well above February, yet it barely missed January, which shows how closely Macau results still track holiday timing, mainland demand, and premium mass play.
