Macau Deal Opens Path for BEE Production

Rather than announce a full factory rollout right away, both companies started with a framework agreement. The aim is to introduce sustainable manufacturing processes in Macau and build a local base tied to the global BEE playing card brand.

Cartamundi Asia Pacific signed the deal with Asia Pioneer Entertainment Holdings Ltd, or APE. Cartamundi already supplies gaming products to casino resorts through a worldwide network of manufacturing sites, design centres, and sales offices, so Macau gives the group a useful base for wider Asia activity.

“Macau’s unique position as a gateway to Asia makes it the ideal platform for our next steps. Today’s agreement is only the beginning of a journey that will bring global innovation closer to Macau,” Jason Pearce, managing director of Cartamundi Asia Pacific, said in prepared remarks.

APE also framed the partnership as more than a supply arrangement. Herman Ng Man Ho, executive director and chief executive of Asia Pioneer Entertainment, said the group sees room for local economic benefits as well as cleaner industrial standards.

“The technologies and processes we are preparing to introduce will not only benefit the local economy but also set new benchmarks for sustainable manufacturing,” Ng said.
