Online poker players in the United States and Canada will soon see a new platform experience. PokerStars plans to integrate operations with FanDuel across several regulated markets, bringing poker, casino games, and sports betting into one ecosystem. Launch plans focus on New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Ontario where online casino platforms operate legally.
Good to Know
FanDuel will soon become the main platform for PokerStars players in North America. Messages already appear on PokerStars pages that read, “Welcome to the biggest game in town. PokerStars exclusively on FanDuel.”
Notifications reached players in Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Jersey, and Ontario explaining that the poker platform will shift toward FanDuel. Both brands operate under Flutter Entertainment, which owns several large online gaming platforms worldwide.
Integration plans involve a new poker client and app. Desktop access will also remain available. Players will access poker tables through the FanDuel ecosystem once the platform launches.
An official release explains the product structure. PokerStars said:
“PokerStars on FanDuel will create a best-in-class poker experience, launching via a dedicated poker app and desktop client, delivering shared liquidity across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.”
Shared liquidity represents one of the biggest changes for online poker players in those states. Combined player pools across multiple jurisdictions usually create larger tournaments, higher guarantees, and more consistent cash game traffic.
Operators often rely on shared liquidity to compete with large global poker platforms.
A timeline still remains unclear. PokerStars communications confirm that development continues, with platform readiness planned for 2026.
PokerStars also explained the reasoning behind the shift. Company messaging to players states:
“PokerStars is joining forces with FanDuel to bring together two of the biggest names in gaming under one powerful platform.”
Online poker networks benefit heavily from larger player pools. More players mean more tournament entries and deeper prize pools. For states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, interstate liquidity agreements already allow operators to connect poker traffic across jurisdictions.
New Jersey players will therefore sit at tables alongside players from Michigan and Pennsylvania after launch.
Ontario players will also access the integrated system. However, Canadian regulations require separate liquidity pools. Ontario poker traffic will remain ring fenced within the province.
Another structural change affects player accounts. FanDuel plans to introduce a single wallet system across products. One balance will cover poker, casino games, and sports betting. Players will no longer need separate balances for different gaming verticals.
FanDuel already operates a large sportsbook network in the United States. Integration therefore connects poker activity with one of the largest sports betting brands in North America.
Reward systems will also change. PokerStars currently runs the PokerStars Rewards program, which gives players prize chests based on activity. That system will end as integration approaches.
PokerStars confirmed that PokerStars Rewards will be discontinued on March 13.
Players will receive cash payments for unopened chests along with prorated progress rewards already earned within the system.
After transition, players will participate in FanDuel Rewards instead. The FanDuel program also uses daily prize chests. Rewards can include casino bonuses, free spins, or other promotions.
Example prizes often include free spins on slot games such as Huff N More Puff and All Gronk All Gold.
