WSOP Removes No Limit After Keating Reveals AI-Altered Dialogue

The World Series of Poker pulled all six available episodes of their No Limit documentary from YouTube. The decision followed new revelations that artificial intelligence had been used to adjust spoken lines from at least one key figure in the series. The discovery brought strong reactions across the poker community and raised new questions about trust in documentary storytelling.

Good to Know

  • WSOP removed all six posted episodes of No Limit from YouTube
  • Alan Keating revealed AI was used to alter portions of his dialogue
  • WSOP said the series will be re-edited to meet its content standards

The World Series of Poker said in a statement that it took down the documentary after learning creators had used AI during editing:

“WSOP has recently learned that AI-generated content was used in the No Limit docuseries to alter players’ words without authorization. We have removed the videos and will redo the editing to ensure the final product reflects our standards.”

The issue surfaced when high-stakes regular Alan Keating publicly stated that lines attributed to him had been changed through AI tools. In a post that he later deleted, Keating accused the team behind the project of “putting words in his mouth.”

Dustin Iannotti, who produced No Limit, acknowledged the edits in a response:

“Regarding [Keating’s] concerns: We used AI technology on two brief sequences during post-production, totaling approximately 10 seconds across the 55 total minutes of episodes 5 and 6. As we’ve discussed with Alan directly, we should have consulted him on these editorial choices.”

Iannotti pointed to positive feedback for episode 5 and also referenced his work with Keating on separate YouTube content:

“Separately, as Alan’s YouTube production team, we’ve always had his best interests in mind and remain committed to our creative partnership. We wish this had been handled privately, but we understand emotions can run high with regards to creative work. We stand by our work and the overall integrity of the docuseries.”

Keating responded with a short message: “This doesn’t deserve a reply and you know why.” He later deleted that response as well.

Iannotti then said the altered lines did not change the meaning of Keating’s statements and were used to create “faster scene transitions and narrative pacing,” though he deleted those posts too.

Keating was the only featured personality to claim altered quotes, and there was no immediate confirmation of other AI edits across the remaining episodes. However, the controversy pushed WSOP to remove every published episode, including the ones that had not yet been released but were scheduled for the following week.

The documentary followed several major names at the 2024 WSOP Paradise festival, including Keating, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth and Faraz Jaka.
