Alexander and ten others now face serious accusations including conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to bribe, covering the period between 2011 and 2018.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><em><strong>Good to know<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/casino-news\/kenny-alexander-seeks-court-order-in-entains-turkey-bribery-case\/\">Kenny Alexander<\/a> and former chairman Lee Feldman are among those charged.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Entain previously agreed to pay \u00a3585m under a deferred prosecution deal.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Maximum penalty for conspiracy charges is 10 years in prison and\/or an unlimited fine.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p>The list of individuals charged stretches across GVC\u2019s old leadership team and associated companies. Former CFO <strong>Richard Cooper<\/strong>, ex-director of trading <strong>James Humberstone<\/strong>, and Conexus director <strong>Robert Dowling<\/strong> are all facing conspiracy charges. GVC owned the business between 2011 and 2017 before selling it to Ropso Malta Limited. The deal included a performance-based earn-out worth up to \u20ac150 million, raising questions at the time about whether GVC truly severed ties.<\/p>\n<p>By 2020, HMRC had widened its scope to include possible corporate offences. After rebranding to Entain, the company acknowledged potential historical misconduct linked to former suppliers and employees.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2023, Entain received court approval for a <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/casino-news\/entain-allocates-585m-for-settlement-in-hmrc-investigation\/\">\u00a3585 million financial penalty<\/a> under a deferred prosecution agreement.
