The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) confirmed the state brought in $284.6 million during the month, up 28.9% compared with the same period last year.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><em><strong>Good to know<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Adjusted gross receipts (AGR) jumped 36.7% year-over-year, reaching $259.1 million.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Operators contributed $50.5 million in state taxes, while Detroit\u2019s casinos paid another $12.5 million in local fees.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>MGCB also issued cease-and-desist orders to 15 unlicensed online operators in August.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p>Online casino play continued to dominate Michigan\u2019s market. <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/casino\/what-is-igaming\/\">iGaming<\/a> gross receipts totaled $250.5 million in July, generating $235.2 million in AGR. That marks a 36.5% annual increase, showing just how central online gaming has become for residents.<\/p>\n<p>Mobile sports betting also grew year-over-year, up 13% to a handle of $282.7 million. However, compared with June 2025, the betting handle slipped 6.6%. Operators reported $34.1 million in gross receipts from online sports wagers, with AGR at $23.9 million, a 38.7% improvement from last year.<\/p>\n<h2>Taxes and Payments<\/h2>\n<p>Alongside revenue growth came higher tax contributions. State coffers received $50.5 million in July from licensed operators. Detroit\u2019s three commercial casinos paid $12.5 million in wagering taxes and municipal fees.
