In June, the province\u2019s regulated operators pulled in over CAD $300 million in gross revenue for the third month in a row, fueled mostly by online casinos.<\/p>\n<p>That $306.8 million figure marks a 28% jump compared to the same time last year, thanks to a steady flow of wagers and strong growth in user activity.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><em><strong>Good to know<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Ontario saw over $7.25 billion in wagers in June, up 21.4% from last year.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Online casinos contributed 79% of total revenue.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>More than 1 million player accounts were active for the eighth straight month.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p>Most of the action came from <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/casino\/what-is-igaming\/\">iGaming<\/a>, which brought in $243 million in profit from $6.35 billion wagered. That alone accounted for nearly four-fifths of all revenue, with income up nearly 42% year-over-year. Meanwhile, sports betting generated $58.4 million in revenue on a $768 million handle\u2014roughly the same as last year in terms of bets, but down about 8% on the revenue side. Poker, while active, only brought in $5.4 million.<\/p>\n<p>It is only the fourth time since Ontario\u2019s market launched in April 2022 that monthly gaming revenue crossed the $300 million mark. June also marked a 5.9% bump in average revenue per user compared to a year ago, with each active player bringing in an average of $300\u2014just the sixth time that mark has been hit.<\/p>\n<p>That growth reflects not just higher spending, but also a much larger player base. Compared to June 2024, active gaming accounts more than tripled from 303,000 to over 1.01 million. The number has stayed above one million for eight straight months, showing how stable the market has become.<\/p>\n<p>Still, some month-over-month softness showed up. Gross revenue dropped $35 million from May, and wagering was down by 10%. Active accounts slipped 5%, hinting at a minor cooldown following a hot spring run.<\/p>\n<p>Ontario continues to stand out as the only province in Canada offering legal online sports betting, iGaming, and poker under one roof.
