Before the vote, developers had hoped the reduced height of 22 stories\u2014down from the original 60\u2014would help the plan pass.<\/p>\n<p>Breanna Lucier, the project manager, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal before the meeting, <em>\u201cWe are hoping for approval with conditions tonight.\u201d She added, \u201cThe proposed towers would be no taller than 22 stories.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Concerns Over Height and Neighborhood Fit<\/h2>\n<p>City staff had advised against the project, raising concerns about how the tall structure would fit into a neighborhood with a seven-story zoning cap. Plans also call for a casino, theater, spa, nightclub, restaurants, and retail stores, along with a separate parking garage on land owned by the developer.<\/p>\n<h2>Developer\u2019s Push for Approval<\/h2>\n<p>Developer Shlomo Meiri has described the project as a possible anchor for future growth in the Historic Westside. His team said a recent community meeting in April was \u201cfruitful,\u201d although pushback from residents has remained steady.<\/p>\n<p>Before the vote, Meiri tried to withdraw the application but ultimately agreed to proceed following a tense exchange with the commission. Both Commissioner De Salvio and Commissioner Stephen Munford advised the developers to improve their pitch before the City Council makes its decision next month.<\/p>\n<h2>Next Steps If Approved<\/h2>\n<p>Even if the council gives the green light on June 18, the project still faces further regulatory steps.
