The state brought in $293.5 million in total online gambling revenue, according to data from the Michigan Gaming Control Board. That total marked a 9.3% increase from <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/casino-news\/michigans-igaming-and-sports-betting-revenue-surges-in-february-2025\/\">February<\/a> and outpaced the <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/casino-news\/michigan-achieves-record-igaming-revenue\/\">same month last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><em><strong>Good to know<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Michigan set a new online casino revenue record in March with $260.5 million.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Sports betting saw a decline in both revenue and handle compared to last year.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Detroit\u2019s land-based casino revenue dropped year-on-year but rose from February.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p>After adjusting for promotions, gross receipts stood at $260.7 million\u2014up 17.9% year-on-year and 10.3% higher than February.<\/p>\n<h2>Online Casino Revenue Hits Record<\/h2>\n<p>Igaming alone generated $260.5 million in March, setting a new monthly high. That figure beat January\u2019s previous record by 5% and was 20.9% more than March 2024. Adjusted receipts from igaming totaled $246.1 million, also a new record and 26.5% above last year\u2019s numbers.<\/p>\n<p>BetMGM, partnered with MGM Grand Detroit, returned to the top of the market with $69 million in gross receipts and $64.8 million adjusted. FanDuel and MotorCity Casino, the previous month\u2019s leaders, followed closely with $68.1 million and $64 million, respectively. Gross receipts hit $33 million, down 21.2% from March 2024. Adjusted receipts dropped even more, falling 45.3% to $14.6 million.<\/p>\n<p>Bettors wagered $475.1 million in total, a 4.5% decrease from the previous year. The monthly hold came in at 6.95% based on gross receipts and just 3.07% when adjusted.<\/p>\n<p>FanDuel and MotorCity led the category with $14.1 million from a $179 million handle, showing a 7.88% hold. DraftKings and Bay Mills followed at $9.5 million from $129 million (7.36% hold). While that was 5.3% lower than last year, it marked an 18.8% rise from February.<\/p>\n<p>Slots and table games contributed $116.8 million. Adjusted gross receipts came in at $571,216, with wagers totaling $12.1 million and a 4.72% hold.<\/p>\n<p>MGM led the city\u2019s market with 46% share, followed by MotorCity at 31% and Hollywood Casino at Greektown with 23%.<\/p>\n<p>The three casinos paid $9.5 million in state taxes and $13.9 million to the city.
