Her death was confirmed by the Elaine Wynn and Family Foundation early on April 15. No cause of death has been shared.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><em><strong>Good to know<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Elaine Wynn co-founded both Mirage Resorts and Wynn Resorts with Steve Wynn.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>She helped Communities In Schools grow to support 1.7 million students in 26 states.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>She led major educational reforms in Nevada and served on the UNLV Board for over two decades.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p>Known for her role in creating luxury destinations that redefined Las Vegas, Wynn helped establish Mirage Resorts and Wynn Resorts, alongside her former husband Steve Wynn. From the early days of the Golden Nugget to the launch of properties like Bellagio, Wynn, and Encore, she had a lasting influence on how visitors experience the city.<\/p>\n<p>Wynn Resorts responded to the news shortly after the foundation\u2019s announcement. <em>\u201cWe are all deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Elaine Wynn,\u201d<\/em> the company stated.<em> \u201cHer many talents and special touches are indelibly imprinted on the company and still evident throughout our resorts.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>More Than a Casino Executive<\/h2>\n<p>Elaine Wynn\u2019s impact stretched far beyond the gaming and hospitality industries. She worked closely with Communities In Schools, a national nonprofit helping at-risk students. She served on the Nevada State Board of Education and was elected as its president twice.<\/p>\n<p>Wynn Resorts added, <em>\u201cShe was a tireless advocate for Las Vegas, for children and their education, and for the arts. We\u2019re grateful that the enduring sense of philanthropy she instilled in our company continues to this day.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Honoring Elaine Wynn<\/h2>\n<p>After her death was made public, messages poured in from across Nevada. She served on the UNLV Foundation Board from 1983 to 2008, including a six-year run as Chair.
