Eric Konings will step down as temporary director of the Dutch Online Gambling Association (NOGA) on March 1, 2025. Following Peter-Paul de Goeij\u2019s tenure<\/a>, Konings took up the position on July 1, 2024, and he was instrumental in the organization\u2019s critical period of strategic reorientation.<\/p>\n

The NOGA board is now assessing the content and future course of the directorship. Speaking about his departure, Konings expressed his pride in the advancements made while he was in charge.<\/p>\n

Reflections on Achievements<\/h2>\n

Reflecting on his tenure, Konings stated, \u201cI have enjoyed fulfilling the role of interim director at NOGA during this important period of strategic reorientation. Now that this reorientation is progressing steadily, I have decided not to extend my agreement. I am proud of what we have achieved together and will continue to work for NOGA\u2019s objectives until my last day. For now, I would like to thank the board for the trust they have placed in me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

His contributions during this transitional period have left a significant mark on the association\u2019s progress.<\/p>\n

Expressing gratitude for his service, NOGA vice-chair Sanna van Doorn highlighted Konings\u2019 lasting impact on the organization. She said, \u201cWe are very grateful to Eric for his efforts over the past 7 years, in the capacity of chairman, policy advisor, and interim director. His involvement and expertise in this challenging sector were of great value. Eric played an important role in the establishment of NOGA and in representing the interests of its members over the years. On behalf of the board and our members, I would like to thank him and wish Eric all the best in his future projects and ambitions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
