With a total gaming income of $74.9 million in December 2024, Virginia\u2019s three casinos produced impressive results. This represents a 28% increase from the previous year, according to the Virginia Lottery, which reflects the expansion of the sector in the state. In November, the revenue mounted to $63 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Caesars Virginia, which replaced its temporary facility in Danville, became the state\u2019s top revenue generator as soon as it opened on December 17. Slot machines brought in $21.5 million and table games $6.8 million of the property\u2019s reported December revenue of nearly $28.3 million. Guests may enjoy 1,145 slot machines and 137 table games at the new facility.<\/p>\n

Rivers Casino Portsmouth followed closely, earning more than $25.9 million for the month. Slots generated nearly $18 million, while table games brought in $7.9 million. Hard Rock Bristol rounded out the trio with $20.7 million in revenue, including $17.1 million from slots and $3.6 million from table games. Both Rivers Casino Portsmouth and Hard Rock Bristol feature over 1,400 slots and more than 60 table games, offering extensive gaming options.<\/p>\n

Tax Contributions Benefit State Funds<\/h2>\n

Together, the three casinos paid close to $16.2 million in taxes in December. These money were distributed among a number of important initiatives, such as the Gaming Proceeds Fund, the Family and Children\u2019s Trust Fund, and the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund. Local communities benefited much more from the portion given to host cities.<\/p>\n

With the help of new establishments like Caesars Virginia and steady player engagement at long-standing businesses, Virginia\u2019s gaming sector is still growing.
