This ruling came after Sibella reached a tentative agreement with the Nevada Gaming Control Board on December 13.<\/p>\n<p>During the hearing, Sibella expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share his perspective. <em>\u201cI want to thank the commission for giving me this opportunity to speak,\u201d<\/em> he said. Highlighting his role in addressing questionable activities, he added, <em>\u201cYou don\u2019t have to take my word for it. You only need to look and see that since the investigation into these issues, MGM Resorts eighty-sixed many bookmakers that had been gambling in its casinos \u2014 and some of them for over 20 years.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><strong>A Career Under Scrutiny<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Sibella faced allegations related to violations during his tenure as President and COO of MGM Grand Las Vegas, where he served for eight years. He claimed these issues stemmed from subordinates failing to file a suspicious activity report after bookmaker Wayne Nix paid a $120,000 casino marker in cash.<\/p>\n<p>After leaving MGM Grand in 2019, Sibella joined Resorts World Las Vegas to oversee its launch on the Strip in 2021.
