The Nevada Gaming Control Board announced in September that the state\u2019s gaming business was doing well, with total revenue coming in at just over $1.3 billion, up 3.34% from the previous year. This growth was mostly driven by a noteworthy increase in slot machine revenue, which made up around $897 million of the month\u2019s total gaming win\u2014a strong 10.1% increase over the same period last year. The revenue hit $1.6 billion<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n

Mixed Performance for Table Games and Slot Types<\/h2>\n

Despite the overall rise, table games experienced a downturn in September. The combined gaming win from table, counter, and card games came in at roughly $416 million, reflecting an 8.8% decrease compared to last year. Among slot types, high-denomination slots such as $5 machines and multi-denomination slots showed strong gains. $5 slot machines posted a remarkable 36.6% increase, generating over $6 million, while multi-denomination slots saw a 31.76% rise, contributing $624.3 million to the total gaming win.<\/p>\n

In contrast, other slot categories like one-cent, five-cent, and $25 slots saw significant declines, dropping by 22.74%, 41.33%, and 29.8%, respectively. Meanwhile, select table games managed to buck the trend. Games such as craps, mini-baccarat, keno, and sports pools posted year-over-year increases of 4.17%, 36.9%, 35.9%, and 29.8%, respectively.<\/p>\n

Nevada\u2019s gambling revenue was also influenced by sports betting, with football becoming the most significant contributor. Football wagering reached $55.8 million, a significant 49% rise from the previous year. Furthermore, mobile betting shown expansion, bringing in close to $36 million, a 24.2% increase over the previous year. Nonetheless, there were decreases in a few sports; hockey, for instance, suffered a sharp decline of 61.78%, probably as a result of the early October start of the season.<\/p>\n

However, Clark County\u2019s Las Vegas Strip reported a little decline in revenue. Its September gaming gain was just under $727.7 million, a 1.8% year-over-year decline. Notwithstanding this little decline, Nevada\u2019s consistent growth in gaming income demonstrates the strong demand for slots and sports betting throughout the state, suggesting a sustained upward trend as seasonal sports ramp up.<\/p>\n
