The casinos\u2019 combined adjusted gross revenue (AGR) was close to $150 million. But when compared to the same time last year, this is a significant decline of 5.4%, or $8 million. Additionally, revenue decreased month over month, down 8.2% from August.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Top Earners in Missouri\u2019s Casino Market<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Among Missouri\u2019s casinos, Ameristar St. Charles stood out with the highest earnings in September, bringing in almost $23.6 million. River City secured second place with a revenue of approximately $20.4 million, narrowly surpassing Hollywood Casino, which posted close to $20.3 million for the month. The slim margin of just over $100,000 separated River City and Hollywood in September\u2019s rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Despite these earnings, the year-to-date AGR for Missouri\u2019s casinos reached around $468 million, showing a 3% decrease compared to last year. In addition to this, the state\u2019s casinos contributed a combined $31.5 million in taxes in September.<\/p>\n<p>In November, Missouri voters will have the chance to decide whether or not <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/sports\/section\/about-sports-betting\/\">sports betting<\/a> is legal. Amendment 2, which would allow sports betting throughout the state, is expected to be on the ballot if sufficient signatures are gathered from six congressional districts. Missouri will become the 39th state to legalize sports betting if the bill is approved.<\/p>\n<p>Voters will also decide whether or not a new casino should be permitted close to Lake of the Ozarks, in addition to the proposal about sports betting.
