For the first half of 2024, Playtech has reported strong financial results, with sales of \u20ac906.8 million (\u00a3756.1 million\/$1.01 billion). When compared to the same time last year, this is a 5.5% increase. Along with increasing revenue, the business was also able to turn a net deficit from the prior year into profit.<\/p>\n

The growth in Playtech\u2019s business-to-business (B2B) segment is particularly noteworthy. B2B revenue rose by 14.3% year-on-year, totaling \u20ac382.2 million. CEO Mor Weizer attributes this success to the company\u2019s strategic focus on enhancing its B2B operations. He stated that the results demonstrate the significant progress Playtech has made, highlighting, \u201cWe\u2019ve executed our strategy to grow and improve the B2B business, delivering broad-based growth with strong contributions across our key markets, high operating leverage and tight cost control.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Expanding Presence in North America<\/h2>\n

Weizer also pointed out the impressive growth in North America. B2B revenue from the U.S. and Canada surged by over 230% year-on-year in H1, albeit from a small revenue base. \u201cOur plan to accelerate our presence in the US and Canada is already delivering, with revenue trebling in the period,\u201d<\/em> Weizer noted. He expressed optimism about the potential for further expansion, stating, \u201cWe see a huge opportunity in this market.\u201d<\/em> The company has supported various clients in their growth initiatives and has made significant strides with its partnership with Hard Rock Digital. Playtech\u2019s new agreement with MGM Resorts will allow customers outside the U.S. to experience games streamed directly from Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

In other developments, Playtech has resolved its long-standing legal dispute with Caliplay, a Mexico-facing operator. On September 16, Playtech announced a revised strategic agreement with Caliente regarding their joint venture, Caliplay. \u201cWe\u2019re also delighted to have agreed a revised strategic agreement with Caliplay, our partner in Mexico, which ensures we are well placed to capture significant growth in the coming years,\u201d<\/em> Weizer stated.<\/p>\n

As Playtech prepares to sell Snaitech to Flutter for \u20ac2.3 billion, the company is transitioning into a nearly exclusive B2B provider. Weizer described the sale as \u201cexciting,\u201d asserting, \u201cSnaitech has been a key part of Playtech\u2019s growth in recent years.\u201d<\/em> He expressed confidence in the future, stating, \u201cWe see plenty of opportunities ahead of us.\u201d<\/em> The transaction is expected to close in Q2 of next year, marking a pivotal moment in Playtech\u2019s evolution.<\/p>\n
