Leading member of Thailand\u2019s coalition government, the Pheu Thai Party, has reiterated its support for the country\u2019s legalization of casinos<\/a>. The party sees this project as an essential first step in the direction of economic growth. The Pheu Thai Party has stressed the necessity of creating \u201centertainment complexes\u201d in order to convert Thailand\u2019s \u201cunderground economy\u201d into an official tax-paying organization in a Facebook post. They think the government will have new streams of income as a result of this change.<\/p>\n

Funding Welfare and Services<\/h2>\n

The party intends to channel these new revenues into enhancing the welfare of Thai citizens. They aim to support education, public health, and essential services with the funds generated from these ventures. By integrating casinos into large leisure resorts, Thailand can tap into an evolving market that attracts diverse tourists.<\/p>\n

Julapun Amornvivat, Thailand\u2019s deputy finance minister and a prominent member of the Pheu Thai Party, indicated that plans to legalize casinos are moving forward. He announced that a revised draft bill for regulating casino businesses would soon be presented to the cabinet for consideration among coalition partners.<\/p>\n

The Pheu Thai Party envisions a flourishing \u2018fun economy\u2019 through the establishment of these entertainment complexes. \u201cOne of the ways to achieve this is by integrating legal casino and gambling businesses into the system,\u201d<\/em> the party stated. They propose a framework that ensures clear legal standards, oversight, and efficient tax collection.<\/p>\n

These large-scale complexes would not only include casinos but also feature shopping malls, five-star hotels, restaurants, bars, convention centers, health facilities, sports venues, amusement parks, and cultural areas promoting Thai heritage. The Pheu Thai Party emphasizes that these complexes should be managed by \u201cprofessional operators\u201d with extensive experience in related sectors.<\/p>\n
