The Gibraltar Supreme Court has rendered a significant ruling in favor of Mansion Group, directing its former CEO, Karel Ma\u00f1asco, to reimburse the now-defunct gaming company for more than \u20ac2.5 million ($2.76 million) and \u00a3127,000 ($166,200). The case centers on allegations that Ma\u00f1asco improperly exploited corporate cash by paying outside vendors for services that they never rendered.<\/p>\n

Mansion Group\u2019s Closure and Legal Struggles<\/h2>\n

The B2C brands Casino.com and MansionCasino.com were closed as part of the Mansion Group\u2019s official shutdown in October 2023. A major blow to the operator\u2019s company came from regulatory concerns in important areas like Ontario and the UK. An additional factor in the company\u2019s demise was the ongoing legal conflict with Ma\u00f1asco, which made issues more complex.<\/p>\n

A prior order that resulted in a global asset freeze of \u20ac5 million on Ma\u00f1asco was followed by this latest court decision. Ma\u00f1asco launched the lawsuit in the beginning of 2024, accusing Mansion Group of operating without the required permissions and dodging taxes in multiple nations. But the court rejected him on all the occasions. Ma\u00f1asco was found to have not presented sufficient proof to back up his allegations when it dismissed his claims in August.<\/p>\n

In the most recent decision, the court found that Ma\u00f1asco had approved dubious payments, such as \u20ac2.5 million to White Wizard Media Limited, an organization that offered Mansion Group no services. Furthermore, KM Accountants was paid \u00a3127,000 for consulting services that Aventador Media Limited had invoiced. Ma\u00f1asco was directed to provide clarification regarding the aim of these payments by May 15. Due to his inability to provide adequate justification, the court dismissed his defense and counterclaim and gave Mansion Group the full amount that was sought.<\/p>\n

Ma\u00f1asco plans to submit an appeal of the decision, which will likely draw attention to the ongoing legal dispute. The court\u2019s rulings continue to support Mansion Group\u2019s efforts to recoup money in spite of his efforts.<\/p>\n
