This move, speculated by industry experts, could potentially pave the way for casino gaming in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), the UAE\u2019s first gaming regulatory body, issued the license. The authority is chaired by former MGM Resorts International CEO Jim Murren. With Murren at the helm and Wynn Resorts already developing a $4 billion resort near Dubai, analysts anticipate the inclusion of gambling in these projects.<\/p>\n<p>John DeCree, an analyst at CBRE Institutional Research, sees the UAE as a promising market for gaming. He noted, <em>\u201cI think it is reasonable to expect the UAE will be the Las Vegas of the Middle East.\u201d<\/em> DeCree emphasized the country\u2019s potential, stating, <em>\u201cWe believe the UAE represents one of the most compelling opportunities in global gaming.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The establishment of the GCGRA and the introduction of a lottery system are viewed as preliminary steps toward comprehensive gaming regulations. DeCree believes these developments hint at the eventual approval of gambling at the new Wynn resort.<\/p>\n<h2>Wynn\u2019s Ambitious Project<\/h2>\n<p>The Wynn project, currently under construction, is set on one of the Marjan Islands, a group of small man-made islands that have seen limited use until now. The plans include a 1,500-room beachside hotel and casino, positioning it as one of Wynn\u2019s largest properties.
