The Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance released Ordinance 1,207 on July 31. This regulation outlines the technological specifications for live gaming studios and internet gaming. The much anticipated legislation, which attempts to specify which games can be offered in Brazil\u2019s newly regulated market, was signed by Secretary Regis Dudena. Brazil has also implemented new gambling regulations<\/a> 3 months back.<\/p>\n

Popular games like Fortune Tiger (\u201cJogo do Tigrinho\u201d) are allowed under these new laws as long as they follow the guidelines of the ordinance. These include getting certified by an organization accepted by the Prizes and Betting Secretariat and putting up a payout table that shows every possible winning combination before betting ever starts.<\/p>\n

Ordinance 1,207 establishes clear guidelines to ensure transparency and fairness in the gaming industry. Here are some of the main provisions:<\/p>\n

  2. Payout Information<\/strong>: Online games must display a multiplication factor for each unit of currency bet, showing the potential payout for each prize.<\/li>\n
  3. Certification Requirements<\/strong>: Online games and live gaming studios must be certified by a recognized certifying entity. These certificates must be valid for the duration of the authorization and revalidated whenever critical components change.<\/li>\n
  4. Prohibited Practices<\/strong>: Betting operators cannot offer bets on online games in physical locations using equipment or devices.<\/li>\n
  5. Data Availability<\/strong>: All data, information, and documents related to online games and live gaming studios must be available to the Prizes and Betting Secretariat for at least five years from their creation date.<\/li>\n
  6. Session Management<\/strong>: If a bettor leaves the game or remains inactive for 30 minutes, the session will be considered closed.<\/li>\n
  7. Prize Promotion<\/strong>: Games must not change announced prizes after a bet is placed. Crash games must clearly show the increasing multiplier value during the game.<\/li>\n
  8. Transparency in Odds<\/strong>: The possibility of winning the top advertised prize, based on randomness, must occur at least once in 100 million plays, unless the actual odds are clearly stated.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The ordinance also emphasizes that games should not contain hidden source codes that players could exploit to bypass the game\u2019s rules. Additionally, the graphic art must display the return to player (RTP) information without requiring the bettor to start the game session.<\/p>\n

    By implementing these comprehensive regulations, Brazil aims to create a fair and transparent online gaming environment, ensuring players are well-informed and protected. These new standards are part of broader efforts to regulate the gaming industry, aligning with laws like Law No. 14,790 and previous ordinances.<\/p>\n
