This appointment is a part of the ministerial team for the DCMS that Labour recently announced.<\/p>\n<p>Since November 2022, Baroness Twycross has been a member of the House of Lords. She will oversee gaming matters and answer directly to Lisa Nandy, the Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sport. Twycross will supervise DCMS business in the House of Lords in addition to her new post. She will also serve as a Lords Minister.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>New Responsibilities and Team Structure<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In her expanded role, Baroness Twycross will be joined by Stephanie Peacock, the Labour MP for Barnsley South. Peacock will serve as the minister for sport, media, civil society, and youth, handling gambling issues in the House of Commons.<\/p>\n<p>Baroness Twycross shared her enthusiasm for her new position on X, stating, <em>\u201cDelighted to be part of a fabulous team supporting @lisanandy in @DCMS.\u201d<\/em> Her excitement underscores her commitment to advancing the Department\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Before her new appointment, Baroness Twycross had a notable career in public service. In April 2018, she was appointed as London\u2019s first Deputy Mayor for Fire and Resilience by Mayor Sadiq Khan. Her tenure on the London Assembly from 2012 to 2020 further highlights her extensive experience in governance and public affairs.
