Flutter Entertainment has appointed Mark Shaw, a former Spotify executive, as its new director of global payments strategy. Shaw brings a wealth of experience from prominent roles at Spotify, TSB Bank, Visa Europe, and Vocalink. Additionally, he serves on the Bank of England\u2019s CBDC technology forum.<\/p>\n

Shaw\u2019s extensive financial expertise will be instrumental as he oversees Flutter\u2019s diverse portfolio of brands, including FanDuel, Paddy Power, Betfair, Sportsbet, Sisal, and PokerStars. Reflecting on his first month in the role, Shaw expressed excitement about working with Flutter\u2019s \u201cawesome local payment team\u201d to \u201cbuild out the future for payments across the group.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his LinkedIn statement, Shaw said, \u201cIt\u2019s a big change from Spotify in so many ways, but new challenges and learning are the only constants in life, so it\u2019s time to get stuck in and help \u2018Change The Game.’\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Shearer Joins Betfair as Ambassador<\/h2>\n

In other news, Flutter\u2019s Betfair brand named Alan Shearer its latest ambassador. The renowned soccer pundit and former professional athlete will offer fans insightful analysis throughout the Euro 2024<\/a> and Premier League seasons. Shearer\u2019s collaboration with Betfair began with the \u201cFootball\u2026 Only Bettor: Euros Preview Special\u201d podcast, where he shared his thoughts on the English team\u2019s prospects.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the team\u2019s performance, Shearer noted, \u201cWhile the former athlete was impressed with the team\u2019s front, he said that there is more to be desired by its defense.\u201d<\/em> He also praised Jude Bellingham\u2019s \u201cremarkable talent and maturity.\u201d<\/p>\n
